Heather grew up in the Chicago suburbs with her family.
She attended her first year of college at the University of Illinois before transferring to Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin where she graduated with a B.A. in Biology and Spanish. She then returned to Champaign-Urbana to attend veterinary school at the University of Illinois - ILL! INI! - and graduated in 2012.
She practiced locally for a couple of years before moving to Virginia with Jasmine, her little beagle. She worked in the northern Virginia area for 8 years before then moving to Colorado in 2023 with her boyfriend Brian, Jasmine, and their two black cats, Monster and Dexter.
Heather's professional interests include senior/geriatric care, preventative medicine, and dentistry.
Outside of veterinary medicine, Heather is a triathlete and competes in long distance triathlons but her favorite athletic achievement is running a one mile race in an inflatable dinosaur costume! She also enjoys yoga, trail running, baking (though admittedly is very bad at it), and listening to true crime podcasts.
